The McDonnell F3H-2, F3H-2M and F3H-2N are single place, all weather fighters. Principal recognition features are slightly canted "needle" nose appearance, with sweptback wing and empennage. The cockpit is located well forward of the wing leading edge and in line with the engine air inlet duct which appears to encircle the fuselage. The airplane is powered by an axial flow, turbo-jet engine with afterburner. Added to its fighter design are the latest in electronic equipment to accurately accomplish its mission. As fighters, they have all the requisites for rapid maneuvering and yet the stability needed for their fire control systems. Typical of all Navy fighter aircraft, the F3H-2, F3H-2M and F3H-2N are designed for land or carrier based operation; incorporating catapult provisions, arresting gear and folding wing panels.Pages: 178File Size: 30.55 MB Format: PDF - Adobe Acrobat Version 7 (Get Free Adobe Acrobat reader, click here.)
