| The purpose of this manual is to assist maintenance, and repair personnel in identifying and ordering spare parts for Aero Commander Models 500A, 500B, 500U, 560F, 680F & 680F(P). This parts catalog is dated December 1959 and has lots of great illustrations. The idea for the Aero Commander 500 series was conceived by two Douglas Aircraft Company workers, who went on to form the Aero company in 1944. One U-4B (a variant of the 560A) became a presidential transport aircraft for Dwight Eisenhower between 1956 and 1960. This was the smallest "Air Force One", and the first to wear the now-familiar blue-and-white livery.
